I came across a post saying, “Ang daming scammers sa Baguio,” and I feel the need to address this. Most of the people involved in accommodation scams are not true Baguio locals kakabsat and I am sure of that! Residents of Baguio are known for their honesty, warmth, and hospitality. For many of them, providing accommodations or services to tourists is their bread and butter, and they would never engage in activities that could damage their reputation or livelihood.
Scamming goes against the values of Baguio’s community. Locals take pride in making their city a safe and welcoming place for visitors. These scams are often carried out by outsiders who exploit Baguio’s popularity to deceive people.
Instead of generalizing, let’s focus on reporting these scammers and protecting Baguio’s good name. This way, we can support the hardworking locals who genuinely rely on tourism to provide for their families.
